The University of Manchester (UoM) is looking for participants to take place in an online study using a tool that helps people asking for advice on lung cancer symptoms.

The When2Go tool developed by researchers from the University of Manchester is designed to help people decide if they need to see a doctor when they have symptoms that can (in rare cases) be related to lung cancer.

Psychologists and Computer Scientists at the University of Manchester are inviting people to take part in the online study where they are testing the When2Go tool.

Participants can take part if they, or someone they know, has any respiratory symptoms (e.g. coughing), chest/shoulder/back pain, or unexplained weight loss or tiredness.

The UoM said that these symptoms do not mean that the participant has lung cancer but knowing when to have symptoms checked out by a doctor is important, which is why the When2Go tool is being developed.
